Decorating and furnishing your house is an expression of your personality and your history; the culmination of your experiences, preferences and cultural values packed into the one environment that is within our control. It is no wonder that our home is so important to our comfort and well-being. In this gallery you can visit my house, which won a ‘Creative Conversion’ award in Period Living Magazine recently (January 2016 issue), and suss out what kind of person I am… If you are interested in facilitating your own style, find out how my courses are designed to help you to find your own voice and visit the ‘Lottie’s Workshops’ page.
This sunny sitting room has a bay window overlooking the garden. the wall are painted in F&B 'Powder Blue'. The fire surround is faux marbled slate
The coffee table is painted in 'Old Violet'
I hand stitched this shade using a vintage barkcloth curtain.
I decorated the walls in this sunny sitting room overlooking the garden in Farrow & Ball's Powder Blue 20 years ago and never grown tired of the scheme. I started painting pictures because I couldn't afford to buy them - the roses are from the garden.
Baby, the labrador, and I pose for photographer Amanda Turner, in the front hall, which has a beautifully tiled floor.
There's not much width to the hall way and the only way of adding furniture is to hang it on the wall. i painted this cross between a mirror and an altar piece in Annie Sloan chalk paint. I love the mottled glass - I look that much better for having it!
I love a bit of kitsch ..in the right place.
People always want to know the colour on the cupboards. I painted the kitchen 12 years ago in Farrow & Ball's 'Drab'
