This week at Lottie’s Creative Living

On Monday I drove down to Oxford to do a course with Annie Sloan in her delightful shop at St Clement’s in Oxford. Many years ago Annie taught James Booth, with whom I did my apprenticeship, the ropes of decorative paint techniques at The Inchbald Institute in London. So, in a way we go back a long way and it was very special for me to see Annie at work and to learn some new techniques using her own range of chalk paints.

I finished a writing desk , which I painted in Annie’s paint.

I have two more new items for the shop; the mirror has a metal frame with a slightly dome-shaped glass and measures 42cms along the diameter (£19.50). I decided to leave the small oak table unpainted and to give it some love and care with furniture restorer. The unusual arrangement of domed cross members between the legs is marvellous (£45).

I carefully placed a Valentine’s card on the desk and I must tend to romance next! Wishing you all a very happy day!
